Body Faves | May, 2019

Time for a monthly round up of favorites! This time, for body. I don't talk enough about body care products, and I really hope to change that in the upcoming months, because I really think that caring for the body as a whole is incredibly important. Too many put a ton of emphasis on the skin of their face, forgetting that there's several additional feet of skin on the body to tend to. BTW, you can shop any of these products by clicking their numbered title name, in red!
O B S E S S E D. I'm really not one for physical exfoliation, in general. Not on my face, and not on my body either. But this is so gentle and so nourishing that I can't say no to it, and honestly CRAVE it. I love using it. This has Manuka Honey and Yogurt in it, both soothing and nourishing ingredients, and it also includes Vitamin C for smoothing and radiance. The tiny exfoliating granules are incredibly gentle. No redness or irritation here! And the beeeest part is the scent. Omglob I literally can't deal with how delicious this baby smells. I want to smell exclusively like this for the rest of my life. I need a lotion, a shower gel, a perfume, I need everything fragrant in this scent. Also, it's in a squeeze tube, which is the best for body scrubs, and it's only $10.99USD. Can't beat it, honestly.
I bought this purely because of the refillable case, I'm just going to be up front about that. It honestly disgusts me how much packaging I have to trash/recycle a year and I will pretty much try anything refillable (aka less wasteful) at this point. Bonus points for this being an incredibly adorable deodorant. Anyway, I got the scent Cabin no5 and I honestly love it. Cabin no5 is a very earthy, spicy unisex scent, and it smells delish. MYRO makes natural deodorant, free of aluminum, baking soda, and coconut oil. It doesn't irritate my skin, and keeps me smelling fresh all day. The consistency is a bit creamier than I'm used to in a deodorant, but I don't mind it at all. **I will say, just for clarification, natural deodorants are not meant to completely prevent you from sweating. Your body sweats to detox, and even though we have been conditioned to think sweating is ~nasty~, it's not. You sweat for a reason. Blocking the body's ability to do that is not good, IMO. The goal of natural deodorant, to me, is to allow your body to detox while keeping your pits as pleasant smelling as possible. As I acclimated to natural deo, I began sweating less, in general. If you're coming straight from antiperspirant, it will take your body a while to balance out it's sweat production.**
I've actually been using this for months, and I don't know if I've ever spoken about it. The Amika body wash is basically everything I want from a body wash, with the signature Amika scent (I'm terrible at describing scents, but I would classify it as slightly floral and totally edible). It's nourishing, and non-stripping, but really makes me feel clean. Basically, everything you want from a body wash. Amika doesn't sell the body wash individually, unfortunately, BUT the big beautiful bit is that it is sold with the Hydrating Body Cream (which I emptied months ago, and if I empty a lotion, you KNOW it was good). I lovelovelove both of these items. I don't know if they're limited edition, but if you love the way Amika hair care smells, you will love their body care 189%. I really hope they come out with more body care in the future, because both of these were huge wins for me. (You can use my affiliate code MODYOUNG for 10% off anything on Amika's website, btw).
I know, I know. 2 deodorants, 1 blog post. But I can't help it. I love them both! So much. You know how I choose what to put into these favorites posts? I choose things that I literally look forward to using. And I really do look forward to using this. It is a natural deodorant, and it smells amazing. It leaves me smelling amazing ALL DAY. This is 100% my most repurchased deodorant of life. It's affordable, and it works better than any drugstore deodorant I've ever used. It also is completely non irritating, which is beautiful for us sensitive people.
And we're done! 4 body faves for the month of May! I'd love to hear your faves! And as always, thanks for reading. Until next time, cheers xx. M.
